Description
We are seeking a COMEXT Signals Analyst to perform analysis and mentoring in the application of communications externals (COMEXT) parametric analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and applications of communication theory, to include signal processing, decision theory, estimation theory, modulation-demodulation, multiplexing, forward error correction, and randomizers.
  • Radio Frequency {RF) spectrum analysis theory, including differentiation, spectrum characteristics, and RF agility.
  • Satellite systems to include satellite communication (SATCOM) equipment, satellite operations, and basic satellite communications principles.
  • Collection capabilities, limitations, and conflicts for all platforms and sources; knowledge of data flow to ensure collection volume and quality.
  • Data processing using mapping tools, algorithms, intelligence reports, and display tools.
  • Principles of communication devices, technology, characteristics, components, functions, capabilities, and operations, to include high-powered cordless phones (HPCP's), digital and analog push-to-talk {PTT), cellular phones, satellite phones, and VSATs.
  • Principles of communications networks, to include high-frequency {HF) networks, satellite communication {SATCOM) networks, line-of-sight networks, GSM and other cellular networks, and wireless networks.
  • Intermediate digital signal processing related to digitizing analog signals, deinterleaving, digitization, signal-to-noise ratio, filtering, and Doppler corrections.
  • Ability to evaluate RF COM EXT datasets and verify processor fidelity.
  • Ability to participate in target research to query, retrieve, analyze, and integrate large amounts of information and signal data; recognize relationships between traffic and tasking; and identify potential collection opportunities and enhancements.
  • Provide feedback on intelligence collected to improve the quality, quantity, duration, and appropriateness of collection activities.
  • Advanced digital signal processing related to digitizing analog signals, deinterleaving, digitization, signal-to-noise ratio, filtering, and Doppler corrections.
  • Ability to conduct target research to query, retrieve, analyze, and integrate large amounts of information and signal data; recognize relationships between traffic and tasking; identify potential collection opportunities and enhancements.
  • Ability to direct or conduct development or evaluation of new or enhanced signals analysis techniques for software or hardware implementation.
Requirements
A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
 
10+ years of analysis, processing, collection, and reporting experience on COMINT signals data; must include minimum of 5 years specialized experience working directly with RF COMEXT data 

Bachelor's (or higher) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or Computer Science. In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, 14 years of demonstrated specialized experience in SIGINT analysis may be substituted, to include at least 8 years specialized experience working directly with RF COMEXT data. A Master's or Doctorate degree in the fields as described may be substituted for a total of two and three years of SIGINT experience, respectively, but advanced degrees cannot replace the minimum specialized requirement of 5 years of experience working directly with RF COMEXT data.
